Dear Kindergarten Moms and Dads,

We now completed one first full-week of school, and things are going fairly well.  We are still working on learning our letters and numbers.  We are working with both capital and lower case letters and are up to the letter "L".  Your child should now be able to recite the alphabet from A to L and recognize each of these letters.  Please continue to review these with your child.

We are also working on printing our first names, using a capital letter at the beginning, followed by lower case letters.   They have been bringing printing papers home for homework.  Please make sure they stay on the lines and make each letter the correct size.  They should also be able to name the letters that they are printing.

We have done the single digit numbers from 0 to 9. Your child should be able to count and recognize these numbers. Your child has been working very hard making a number book, which will be sent home soon. Next week we will begin working with two digit numbers between 10 and 19.

We are also working on left and right, inside and outside, on top and underneath.  We will soon be learning above and below, before and after, and first, middle, last.

As we have a short week-next w eek (3 days) and have some Snacks left over from this week, only Brittney needs to bring in a snack o Monday.  Tryence and Jenna will bring their snacks the following Monday.

Don't forget to return the book order forms with the money by Monday. This company offers very good books for a reasonable price and will give us free books for the classroom, so it will benefit your children at home and in-school. Again, please feel free to call or write me a note if you have any questions or concerns.

                Ms. Carolyn Anderson
