Dear Parents,
By
now you should know that your child will be making a leaf collection for science
class. Hopefully, they may have already started pressing leaves!
Press leaves
between absorbent papers. Use a telephone book or stacks of newspaper with a
weight on top. Within a week, the leaves will be dry and stiff. Waxing is not
necessary and ruins the iron.
All
mounting and identification will be done in school (if the collecting and
pressing is done on time.) If students do not have their leaves in school on
identification days, they can work after school.
Each student will receive mounting paper, yarn, and a folder to keep everything
together.
