Holy Family is a small Catholic School on Erie's lower east side. Holy Family was founded in 1915 by the late Father Andrew Jurcak, then pastor of Holy Family Parish. The first classes were held in the basement of Holy Family Church until the parish could afford a separate school building. The present building was opened in September of 1949 under the leadership of the late Msgr. Stephen H. Meko. Holy Family School has educated thousands of children by dedicated religious and lay faculty members for over 85 years. Today Holy Family School continues to serve the families of East Erie helping to develop strong moral and religious values.

SCHOOL GOAL - 2007 - 2008

We will enhance our students' writing skills through the use of writing prompts.

This will be accomplished by:

1. Every Friday the children will work on the different prompts that are provided by the teacher.

2. Quarterly the children will choose one of the prompts to edit and publish.

3. Each student will record their response in a composition note book
